Life Lesson(s)…
Acts 26 reveals the capability of the Lord God to assist His children to testify to all about Jesus Christ. As Paul stated above during his testimony and argument against his false arrest, God assisted him in giving his testimony to all people "small and great" about Jesus and how Jesus fulfilled the prophecies given by the prophets and Moses.
From the masses to the emperor, the Lord forged a path for Paul to testify to Jesus' goodness, sacrifice and resurrection. As captured in the conversation between King Agrippa and Festus, Paul could have been freed long before because he committed no crime, but the only thing holding him to the path of speaking to governmental authority was Paul's petition to the emperor.
Acts 26 exemplifies the heart of God. Basically, as stated by Peter, in 2 Peter 3:9,"The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you,[a] not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance."
Your Thoughts…
Wading in deeper biblical study, prayer and/or discussion or journaling, consider the following:
Write your testimony of how you have seen God working in your life over the last year. In your testimony, are you addressing a child, teen or adult? Would your telling of the testimony change depending on to whom you are speaking? Why or why not?
In your testimony, where did God open a door or shut a door? Did you choose to walk through the open door? Did you choose to fight against the closed door? What are the ramifications to your life depending on God's action and your choice?
Do you feel that God has set you on a particular assignment as He did with Paul throughout Acts? If so, what do you believe your assignment is? Have you accomplished the assignment? Looking back, do you see the path that God has set for you? Do you see God's help through it all?
Explain to someone whether or not 2 Peter 3:9 and Acts 26 work together. Does it reveal the character of God to you?

To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.
