Biblical Lesson…
In this chapter, the Lord begins anew with Jerusalem and Israel. From disorder, chaos, destruction and bondage to freedom, the Lord administers law and order to those who turn to and return onto Him for freedom. Beyond the physical rebuilding of Jerusalem, the Lord was rebuilding His chosen nation.
We see the repeated process that the Lord uses in the Old Testament and New Testament, which manifests differently after Jesus' death and resurrection. Read and ponder this allotment principle used by God Almighty.
Joshua 13-21: Joshua allots the land of Canaan among the remaining tribes of Israel entering the Promise Land;
Acts 2:1-13: Holy Spirit allots speaking in tongues among those in the upper room.
Today's Version…
Look around you today. How would you describe where society is at with regard to doing what is righteous and holy in the Lord's eyes? Do you feel free? Why or why not? How do you see the Lord's principle of allotment working in the ecclesia and society today?
What to do…
Challenges for the week:
Pray for understanding and clarity of why the Lord put importance to the concept of allotment. Journal any revelation you may have.
Journal your answers to the questions set forth in "Today's Version".
Discuss or study this with another person or several people to get a fuller picture of God's perspective and to develop your own. Do you think your view aligns with the Lord's? Why or why not?
